As a teaching method,"Dialogue" had to get used, as early as in teaching activities during the Qin Dynasty in China and Confucius and Socrates of ancient Greece. But with the modern institutionalized education, especially the rise of the school class education system, kinds of old teaching methods are gradually being overwhelmed by the pursuit of scale and efficiency of the "industrialization" of education methods.Since World War II, along with human reflection on war and killing, the important principle of "dialogue" to communicate and understand each other, not only "resurrect" firstly in the field of international political, but also gradually penetrated into the religious, cultural and educational exchanges and other areas. Especially in the field of education, dialogue teaching became an important thought of the modern and contemporary education, which is not only widely spread in the field of general education, but also got in-depth practice.In a certain sense, dialogue teaching is a teaching idea and methods, being of obvious characteristics of adult education. However, the historical origins of this teaching method and its significance for adult education, adult teaching and the prospects are of a lack of systematic and in-depth study. Around the basic question of "How the dialogue teaching to apply in the field of adult education in China " in the use of literature, historical research and analysis and other methods based on the historical origins of the dialogue teaching, the concept of development as well as foreign thinking and practice of the field of adult education with the typical meaning of dialogue teaching launched.The article is full of four main contents:(1) Study of the historical origins of the dialogue teaching. This paper argues that the dialogue teaching ideas originated in ancient China dialogue teaching of Confucius and ancient Greece during the Socratic teaching activities.(2) On the development of dialogue teaching ideas. Israeli religious scholar and theologian Martin Buber and Brazilian educator Paulo·Freire is a strong advocate and practitioner of the modern and contemporary dialogue teaching thinking, their thinking and practice not only revived this ancient teaching methods, and its adds a new meaning.(3) The need for the use of dialogue teaching in adult education and adaptive research. From the perspective of adult education and adult psychology, demonstrated in the field of adult education to promote dialogue and application of teaching is not only necessary and possible.(4) Strategy on the promotion of dialogue teaching in the field of adult education in China. On the basis of the status and problems of adult teaching, it promotes the basic strategies in adult dialogue teaching practice:the creation of teaching and learning environment in the classroom of dialogue implementation; to generate a teaching theme in the dialogue; choose to organize dialogue teaching form; timely and effective dialogue with instructional feedback.
