The Mental Solace Of The Rural Empty-nest Family And The Intervention In Social Work

Since reforming and opening, the ceaseless development of the economy speed, then in the Chinese village rural, the family structure changed a lot, more and more rural population choose to work or attend school in order to pursue a better material life, the family size increases miniaturly, so a new family structure emerged, namely, the Empty-nest Family, and its number is rising gradually. The focus of this paper is the mental solace of the Empty-nest Family in rural area, and choose the Empty-nest Family in the south of Anhui province as the specific object to study the spiritual desire and mental solace.With the combinnation of the methods of document research, structured interview, and field observation, the author investigates the Empty-nest Family, observes their everyday life, and makes an analysis on the spiritual desire and the degree of the satisfaction of the Empty-nest Family. The research find that the Empty-nest Family in rural area have strong spiritual desire.So the author uses the previous research to classify the spiritual desire,mainly includes the family reunion, filial piety, filial success and self-respect desire, but the degree of satisfaction is low obviously. In the next place, the paper finds that the Empty-nest Family depend on getting the mental solace from the children, relatives, neighbors and the community agencies to satisfy and transfer the desire, and the support comes into diversification. In these mental solace groups, the children’s solace plays the main part, and because of itself and the external factors, these groups bring to the mental solace become more and more weaker. Lastly from the macroscopic and microcosmic levels of the the Social Work, the paper illustrates the strategy to slove problem. The macroscopic strategy focuses on the government function, the microscopic aspect is mainly from the three methods of the Social Work to solve the problem, namely, Case Work, Group Work and Community Work.The first part of this paper introduces the background, the significance of the study and literature review, expoundes the related theories and concepts. In the preparatory work the author read a lot about the Empty-nest Family in the literature, on the basis of this, influenced by the related researches, finally took mental solace as the attention point. The second part of this paper is about the research ideas, research methods and research object, because the particularity of the research object, the concrete research methods are structured interview and field observation method. The third part is an analysis of the empirical data was provided, includes the study villages Empty-nest Family spiritual desire and satisfaction index, and analyses their mental solace, finds problems. The fourth part is about the ideas from the perspective of social work. Finally, the paper summarizes the research, and put forward the research deficiency.
