Through English teaching experience, the author has found the students arestruggling with using complex sentence patterns fluently and correctly, or memorizingand identifying the boring grammar rules, or bearing the large number of English wordsin mind. Graduatually, they began to regard English learning as burnen, and so frustratedthat they gave up.English nursery rhymes are charcterised by rich content, simple language andpaceful rhythm, which allow the learners feel the glamor of English forms as well as themeanings. Therefore, they are perfect materials to motivate learners, to improve them,and increase their interest in English. How to make best use of these materials in order toenable students to like English and learn better lies with that teachers should put intoefforts to explore the practice under the guidance of theories, then upgrade the Englishnursery rhymes.However, there is no optimism ground for English nursery rhymes teaching currently.Teachers are lack not only in studying in theories, but in practise as well because ofinsufficient emphasis on it. Through my trial in practise, I think English teaching shouldbe primarily based on students, rather not just follow the traditional methods or theintuitional idea. There is no successful teaching without the combination of maturethinking and on-going practice. So, based on the study in English nursery rhymes, theauthor makes sure the direction, which intergrates them into English teaching in juniorhigh schooling, is practical.The author’s attempt to intergrate the English nursery rhymes teaching with the aimof studying how to organize the English nursery rhymes teaching effectively in theclassroom, designing several practical teaching plans, more importantly, exploring thepossibilities of changing the current worrying situation in the field of English teaching.The research methods are mainly experimental method and questionnaire survey.Due to the few cases in the nursery rhymes teaching, no existing success could bedrawn on, so I hope my humble contribution, which summarizes my practice andthinking in-depth, could benefit the relevant studies.
