Under the background of globalization, we cannot ignore a common topic of how was the interaction between social stratification and the obtaining of higher education opportunity. Based on the unique higher education advantages in Xi’an district, we selected various colleges and universities to conduct empirical research. To illustrate the impact of social stratification to higher education opportunities, our research starts from the following three aspects. First of all, the analysis of the university-choices difference of students who come from the various social class. Secondly, the analysis of students’major difference under the various social class. The two points mentioned above could be regarded as the macroscopic influences. The third point was the microscopic impacts, that is to say, the effect of social capital differences to obtaining of education. In addition, in order to illustrate the effect of tertiary education to social stratification, we explain this effect from two aspects. One was from the opportunities of processes and results to individual life, the other was form the obtaining of economic capital from higher education opportunities, the people’s relationships and the cultural capital to higher education opportunities to social capital. Finally, we conducted some countermeasures thinking on the promotion of positive interaction between social stratification and higher education opportunities, that was vigorously developing the economy and narrowing the differences in social class; smoothing communication channels and strengthening the communication between all levels of society; promoting the localization a variety of educational methods and the rational allocation of educational resources; vigorously developing vocational colleges and universities, and building the disadvantaged groups in higher education compensation mechanism; strengthening the building of their own cultural capital and establishing the concept of lifelong learning. In short, China’s higher education enrollment has been developing and making great improvement but we need to pay special attention to higher education opportunities for those at the bottom. We cannot achieve the goal of "harmonious society" at the expense of sacrificing the interest of people at the bottom.
