Since the implementation of the reform and opening-up policy, China's social transformation speed up dramatically, and the social structure also takes a lot of comprehensive and profound changes. Among them, the social class structure differentiates significantly. This has not only expanded the difference in economic income, occupational prestige and social status among different social stratum, but also aggravated the higher education opportunity's gap among their children. Although China's higher education has entered a popular development phase, on the whole, China's higher education resources are still scarce, and opportunity for higher education is very limited. And thus lead to different social class compete fiercely for higher education opportunity. The issue of unequal opportunity for higher education arising from this has attracted wide attention from society. For example, the children of the superior class who possess more economic resources, cultural resources and social resources have more opportunities for higher education, but the inferior class' children only have fewer chance for it. Nowadays, the opportunity for higher education has become a key factor in determining social stratification. In order to reduce the negative impact of social stratification on opportunity for higher education, and maximize the positive role of opportunity for higher education in social stratification and social mobility, further promote social equity. We must start from analyzing the relationship between social stratification and opportunity for higher education, searching for affective measures to achieve equalization of opportunity for higher education. The study believes that, during the social transformation period, the relationship between social stratification and opportunity for higher education is a two-way interaction. On one hand, China's current economic stratification, occupational stratification, cultural stratification and other hierarchical model crosswise affect opportunity for higher education. In addition, our existing class structure also longitudinally influence higher education's starting point, process and result opportunities; on the other hand, opportunity for higher education has made social class structure evolved by influencing people's social mobility. In this regard, this study separately start from the social stratification system and the higher education system. Firstly, in order to build an "olive" type social stucture,we must reform the current income distribution system, cultivate stronger middle class and offer assistance to the vulnerable groups. Secondly, through optimizing the higher education's resource structure, improving the higher education's recruiting and charging system, and building a sound financial assistance system, then constructing a more perfect "life-long education" system, thus speeding up the implementation of the ideal of equal opportunity for higher education.
