In the Republic of China, Yu Ziyi is a very influential educator in the field of primary school education. There are many studies concerning Yu Ziyi. But the focus is so little when talking about Yu Ziyi’s School running practice and thoughts,which existing in his experiences in Jiangsu First Normal University Affiliated Primary School and Nanjing Normal College Affiliated Primary School. In view of this, this paper attempts to study Yu Ziyi’primary school running practice and thoughts, basing on a large number of first-hand history materials, focusing on Yu Ziyi’experiences in the two primary school, including such aspects:how to realize the appropriate integration between introduction and absorption, the mutual nourishing between theory and experience, and how to maximize school effectiveness, the common growth between principals and teachers.This paper’main content is divided into five parts:The first chapter used the narrative research method, summarizing Yu Ziyi’ experiences from an accountant clerk’s son to gradually joining the primary school education activity. Focusing on Yu Ziyi’s family education, school experience, friends and teachers’influence on his future’s growth.The second chapter mainly studied Yu Ziyi’school running practice in Jiangsu First Normal University Affiliated Primary School, focusing on his experiences of how to study abroad, absorb new trend in Europe and the United States, and succeed in school reform, when he stayed in an excellent teachers, keen and small schools.The third chapter focused on Yu Ziyi’s projcet method in Nanjing Normal College Affiliated Primary School, which was exciting but complexing, and how to develop it into" not complete" projcet method as well as his contribution and position.The fourth chapter discussed Yu Ziyi’s distinctive "economy" concept of education. It especially focused on its connotation and value of thought.The fifth chapter analyzed Yu Ziyi’s view about principals, specificly discussed why the principals should become teachers, the conditions on principals to become teachers and how to instruct the teachers.The last part is the conclusion, summarizing Yu Ziyi’practice and core thought of the contribution, and pointed out its significance to future generations of educationalist.
