With the development of the international aerobic gymnastics, the athletics level of our country has made a great progress in the past twenty years and the rank becomes more and more smaller. What’s more, each events have improved a lot. In contrast, although the mixed pairs of our country have ranked ahead, there still exists a certain gap with advanced countries in the respects of difficulty movements, artistic design, and the quality of movements. If we want to narrow the gap and catch up with and surpass the advanced countries, we must constantly improve the skill level of the mixed pairs. This is also the purpose of the study. This paper studied the top six teams and our country’s two teams of11th aerobic gymnastics world championships in the areas such as difficulty movements, artistic design, and the quality of movements on the basis of FIG2009-2012aerobics competition rules, in order to reveal the gap of the overall level between our country with advanced countries. This can provide theory basis for the development of our mixed pairs. The research shows that:1. on the whole, in the11th aerobic gymnastics world championships, the performance gap between our country and the advanced countries is mainly in difficulty movements and the quality, but there is little difference in artistic design.2. in the aspect of the difficulty movements. The number selection of the difficulty was unreasonable and lack of balance. Also, the number of category B is just reached the minimum requirements of the rules. Thus it will lead to the lack of one of the category such as B. The score of the difficulty movements was generally low, and there were less high-score movements and combination movements. In addition, the quality rate of the movements was lower than the top six countries.3. The artistic design of the routines. The number of beats in aerobic movements was inadequate and there is also lack of complexity. The design of the travelling traces and the space shift were unreasonable. And It lacks of creativity in the design of transition and connection. And, there was difference in the cooperation movements between our country and advanced countries. What’s more, the music we used was lack of warm atmosphere and loud tune. The performance of the athletes was lack of the feeling of strength. 4. The quality of movements. There was certain difference in the frequency, speed and gravity-fight. The inconsistent of the move mainly displayed in the rhythm of the move. For this, we should conduct special training and strive to improve the mixed pairs’skill level of our country.
