Education is a kind of social activity which treat life directly, and aim to enhancethe vitality of life. The object of education is the living individual life. The time inmiddle school is the gold stage of growth and development of young students. The levelof middle school students ’ quality of life directly affect the future of China’s nationalquality. At present, China is in a violent transition stage, in which traditional andnon-traditional threats mixed with each other. This exerts great effect on students ’ livesand the quality of life which cannot be ignored. According to statistics, about16,000students die each year due to unnatural deaths in China, with an average of more than40people per day. In recent years, many cases, such as frequent student suicide,homicide, violent attacks on campus, as well as school bus accidents, has revealed thelack of life education of middle school students in China. Therefore, to strengthen theeducation of middle school students ’ life has now become a top priority of schooleducation. This paper studies the current situation of life education in China andproposed some countermeasures of the problems, in the hope to provide a usefulreference to improve the effectiveness of life education of middle school students inChina.This paper contains five parts. First of all mainly illustrates the significance ofresearch on the life education of middle school students, the current situation of researchat home and abroad, the research method and so on. The first part explores thedefinition and characteristics of life, and the meaning of life education. It focuses on thecharacteristics of life to guide the middle school students to realize the uniqueness oflife. The second part describes the culture deposits of life education. It starts with theinterpretation on life education from the West philosophy and Chinese traditionalculture to explain the rich cultural deposits of life education. The third part explores thecontent, objectives and principles of life education. The contents of life educationinclude life consciousness education, life value education, survival education, frustration education, responsibility education and gratitude education. The objectivesof life education include cognitive objective, skill objective, goals, sensibility objectiveand behavior objective; The principles of life education include direction principle,practical principle, hierarchy principle and subjectivity principle.The fourth part the current situation of life education of middle school students,focuses on the analysis of the problems existing in the course of life education of middleschool students. Part V studies on the countermeasure of life education from theperspective of school, family, society and student in order to consolidate superiorresources and form a kind of joint force of life education.
