I happened to know the Chinese current calligraphic educational situations of middle and primary schools through the television news, which brings my anxiety and deep thoughts. What makes me anxious is that there are so a large number of problems existing in the calligraphic education. To change the calligraphic situation is one of the most urgent problems in our basic education. What brings my deep thought is what cause results in the situation and what we should do to change this situation, thus leading to the birth of the paper. Based on the result of the survey regarding to the educational situation of some middle and primary schools in Wuhan, this paper picks up some calligraphic problems from the samples, then explores the causes from the aspects of the society, the school, teachers and students, and tries to figure out the solutions, for instance, strengthening the construction of the teaching faculty, editing the calligraphic textbooks tallying with students’actual situation, at last, turning back to the cultural thesis to conclude in order to change the current situation of the calligraphic situation in middle and primary schools.The article is divided into five chapters. The first chapter reviews the origins and development of Chinese calligraphy and calligraphy education, and as a theoretical support, leads to an important position in our history of calligraphy and calligraphy education. The second chapter is mainly from the calligraphy of educating people, cultivate character, enhance aesthetic, wholesome these four aspects of the important role of calligraphy in contemporary. Chapter Ⅲ through questionnaires and interviews of10primary and secondary schools in Hongshan District of Wuhan City in-depth investigation and analysis, and summed up the actual status of our current primary and secondary education of calligraphy. Chapter IV, respectively, from the society, schools, teachers, students, the four perspective, depth discussion and analysis of the problems in the schools of calligraphy. The final chapter, calligraphy education of current primary and secondary schools to reflect on some personal views and suggestions, and calligraphy education raised to carry forward the spirit of calligraphy, a high degree of heritage of national culture, then called attention to calligraphy education, improve present situation of calligraphy education.
