With the development of the socialist market economy and during in the period of social transformation of our country. as well as the factor of their own characteristics, There are various values in existence and many contemporary college students showed utilitarian value orientation in degree.For example,egoistic, forgetting contribution for profits, eager for quick success and so on. The tendency spread in university campus, bringing many negative effects to the contemporary college students and even the whole society, and it causes the students fickle increased, be anxious to achieve quick success and get instant benefits,plus moral quality drop quickly, aggravating the social secularization tendency, and caused the person selfish indifference between the people. Therefore, it is not conducive to social harmony and harm to socialist spiritual civilization of our country. The thesis on the basis of this realistic problem on college students utilitarian value orientation.which discusses the utilitarian value orientation performance on the university student, analysis its causes, and explores the countermeasures, so as to inform people to pay much attention to this problem, and guide contemporary college students to establish the correct utilitarian values.This thesis is divided into four parts:the first part discusses the connotation of the utilitarian, utilitarianism and utilitarian value orientation, clarifies the meaning and characteristic of utilitarian value orientation of college students, to help us understand the whole of the utilitarianism and lay the foundation for the next part.The second part, analysis the specific performance on utilitarian value orientation of the college students, separately from five aspects including the political view, study view, marriage view, employment outlook and interpersonal view to analyze the utilitarianism performance of college students, and on the basis to elucidate the specific hazards of student Utilitarianism orientation, pointing out the negative effect of college students utilitarian value orientation on College students themselves and even on the development entire society.The third part, according to the performance of students’ utilitarianism orientation, specifically on four aspects including the school, society, family and college students themselves to analyze the causes of the utilitarian value orientation, and to deepen the understanding of the phenomenon of utilitarianism. Finally, on the basis of the analysis to the reason, respectively from strengthen college education, improved social guidance, optimization family education and improve college students’subjectivity to put forward the countermeasure, for helping the students to overcome the utilitarian value orientation and establish the correct values.
