In recent years, with the popularization of China’s higher education development and the enrollment expansion of college undergraduates and postgraduates, University Graduates’ employment problem becomes more and more difficult and serious. More and more graduates feel lost and confused when they face the graduation and employment. The related social problems and the malignant events also increase rapidly, which has become the focus of whole society and each family. Therefore, to solve the employment problem well is not only related to each university’s own survival and development, reputation and status, but also relates to the social stability. Universities and colleges should attach great importance to the career guidance for graduates.Career guidance course in universities is the main means for the implementation of the employment guidance. Most our colleges and universities have opened this course, and some have lasted for many years. We have gained many achievements, but are still not very ideal from the whole. The career guidance curriculum system is not perfect, and the research in this area is weak comparing other courses.The United States is the birthplace of the career guidance. In career guidance curriculum theory and practice, it is on the leading position in the world and has a wealth of experience. Based on the theory of career guidance, from the perspective of curriculum theory, and through the cases of American college career guidance course, this paper undertakes comparative comprehensive, in-depth study, hoping to draw lessons from its experience and acquiring inspiration and guidance for our course construction of career guidance.The article is divided into five parts:The first chapter "Introduction" mainly elaborates the selected topic background, meaning, definition of the core concepts and review at home and abroad; the second chapter mainly introduces the western career guidance theory and the curriculum theory; the third chapter introduces the history of American career guidance, and with the actual cases it shows the career guidance curriculum provision’s aim, function and characteristic; the fourth chapter firstly presents two American universities’cases to describe the American career guidance courses and summarizes its characteristics, and then introduces the American college career guidance curriculum evaluation research; The fifth chapter, based on the present situation of China, discusses the American career guidance courses in provision, implementation and evaluation and the enlightenment and experience to China.
