Study Of Roadmap-based Project Management Mode For Higher Education

Nowadays, the comprehensive national competitiveness has evolved into the competitiveness of education. A nation’s higher education level usually determines its status all over the world. The rapid development of higher education largely depends on a series of higher education projects, such as Chinese ’211 project’ and’985 project’, Japanese ’21st Century COE program’, EU’s’Lifelong Learning Program’. Higher education projects have become a necessary part of higher education activities and the ability of project management of higher education gradually becomes an important element for the development of higher education.In this paper, numerous of methods are applied to solve the problem such as: theoretical exploration, interview with experts, case studies, theoretical modeling. Firstly, the paper defines the related concepts, introduces the principles and methods of technology roadmap and focuses on explaining the modern project management theory and methods based on the overview of project management. Secondly, the characteristics of the project management of higher education of different countries are summed up, includes China, America and the European Union. Finally, the paper develops a roadmap-based project management mode for higher education. At the same time, it gives some reform proposals for our country’s project management of higher education.The innovation of this study is the introduction of the theory and methods into the project management of higher education systematically, which provides a valuable way for the research of higher education management and develops a new way for the project management of higher education. Thus, project management of higher education has been a systematic theoretical basis. The application of roadmap ensures that the mode for the project management of higher education can be transferred to stakeholders of the project, includes the sponsors, managers and the project teams.
