On The Application Of Project Management In Dealing With Social Science And Its Research In Universities

"In modern time, everything is project, and everything will be project."Project Management (PM) has gradually penetrated into many fields, such as business, education, governmental organizations, and social organizations etc. PM theory and method are properly applied in whatever projects, especially the large-scale, complex or stage-character activity. Scientific research projects have the features of long-lifecycle and many-phases, so they are well adapted to use PM. What's more, PM is introduced from abroad, how to apply it in China and scientific research program acquires deeper research and discussion.Integrating with the characters of scientific program, PM theory and method applied in higher school scientific research program are analyzed in this paper. It aims to solve the problems that currently happened to the scientific research management, and discuss the feasibility and necessity of PM application on scientific research management. Under the constraint of resource, scientific research PM is a series of measures which are taken to ensure the project being optimal at quality, time and cost. The key problems existing in the quality, cost and schedule of higher school scientific research management in Jiangxi province are emphasized. And then the causes of the problems and the improving measures are proposed, including the Gantt Chart using in scheduling.Finally, some advices and countermeasures are advanced for improving the human resource management, scientific researcher management and communication in higher school scientific research management.
