Aerobic exercises combined gymnastics, music, dancing and aesthetic, is a modern, rhythmic and harmonious sport which meets the physical needs of middle school adolescent, and be loved by all the students ranging from junior middle schools to universities. It has been listed into the national P.E. course outline in2002and quite soon, became a common part of the course. In these several years, researches on the aerobic exercises education are mainly served for the developed areas. However, the development and universalization of aerobic exercise in rural places, like Lichuan City, have been relatively neglected. Therefore, having a better understanding on the situation in those underdeveloped regions is of great significance from the standpoint of universalizing aerobic exercises on a national scale.This paper focused on countryside middle schools in Lichuan City, used multi-method (including literature research, surveying, visiting, logical analysing and statistics) to analysis the factors which have remarkable effect on the local developing and universalizing of aerobic exercises. It also offered some solutions based on the local situation, hoping to help the national wide development of aerobic exercises. The main conclusions are listed as follow:1. Some schools don’t offer aerobic exercises courses since there is no compulsory rule for schools to offer that course. Some instructors teach aerobic exercises course just on their own preferences.2. Lack of professional instructors. Most instructors major in track and field or basketball, instead of aerobic exercises; low percentage of instructors taking continuing education.3. Students spend most of their time on study and setting-up exercises during the break is not used in those schools.4. Most students enjoy the aerobic exercises (learn from television programs), especially for female students. They believe it is good for their health, and give them a good shape and so on. Because of those inspiring reasons, they hope schools to offer aerobic exercise courses.5. Most P.E. instructors understand the value of doing aerobic exercises, and they support giving the course as well. They also agree to take some continuing education if necessary. 6. Most P.E. course instructors believe the main problems in universalizing aerobic exercise are:not enough attention is paid by government, lacking of fields, the ignorance of propagation, shortage of professional instructors, exam’s restriction and large number of students. Based on the research, and considered the local situation as well, we figured out thefollowing development countermeasure:●Enhance instructors’professional ability regarding to aerobic exercises. And increase the number of instructors as well.●Engineer a better course outline which meets the local needs (mainly serve for schools in rural places), strengthen the course development.●More government spending and improve the facilities for aerobic exercises.●Updating governments’management ideology. And make possible for students to do aerobic exercises.●Strengthen Propaganda, deepen the students’understanding of Aerobics.
