High school students’mind is in a transition period which develops from childishness to maturity,their physical and mental state are rather incongruity.Home is such a significant environment that affects senior high school students’growths.,and parents mean too much to them..Parenting style will inevitably have an impact on self-harmony.Yet,so far there has almost no in-depth study of the relationship between them.The impact of different parenting styles on self-harmony in the senior school was investigated on basis of the student’s family background adopting parenting style survey. The study choose369students in a school, and the results showed that:(1) The parenting-style which the students go through most is emotional warmth, second is over-protection, the least experience is rejection. Compared with the girls, the parents preferred to adopt over-protection to the boys.(2)As for the differences among grade,the mother-style have significant differences.Mothers showed more emotional warmth in the first year of high school.(3)In the case of urban and rural, urban fathers give more emotional warmth and over-protection.(4) Mothers showed more emotional warmth on the student in one chlid faimly and in more than one child family,(5)The parenting-style has a significant positive impact on self-harmony, positive parents-styles help students have a higher level of congruence.Conversely,negative parenting-styles impedes the development of their self-congruence.(6)The regression analysis showed that mothers’emotional warmth and fathers’ over-protection can better predict the level of high school students’self-harmony.
