The family is the basic unit of society.Individuals bear the "mark" of their parents in the process of growing up.It says that the influence of parents’ speech and behavior on the individual will accompany the whole life.Parenting styles can affect a child’s self perception,People skills,and even the individual’s mental health.Interpersonal relationship is a psychological relationship formed gradually in the process of social communication,which is the result of cognition,emotion and behavior.Self-awareness is the basis of maintaining good interpersonal relationship.self-consistency and congruence,as an important criterion of self-awareness,is a reflection of the harmony between one’s inner feelings and his real environment.Based on this,the present study used self consistency and congruence as an intermediary variable to examine the effect of Parenting styles on interpersonal relationships in junior high school students.Through the method of cluster sampling,650 students in three junior middle schools in a city were selected as the research object,and the questionnaire method was used to measure Parenting styles,self-consistency and congruence and interpersonal relationship.At the same time,carry on group psychological counseling to the intervention group,put forward some feasible and effective educational practice recommendations in family education,school education and personal development based on the results of the intervention.The specific research results are as follows:1.There are significant differences in gender between the emotional warmth of the parents of junior high school students and the excessive protection of parents;the only child and the non-only child have significant differences in the mother’s overprotection,self-experience disharmony,self-rigidity,and self-congruence total score;,Disharmony between self and experience,significant differences in communication and friendship between grades;students in rural areas and students in urban areas have significant differences in parental overprotection;junior high school students with different parental education levels have parental rearing styles and self-harmony And there are significant differences in interpersonal relationships.2.Junior high school students’ parental rearing style,self-congruence and interpersonal relationship are related to each other.3.Self-congruence has a mediating effect between parental rearing style and interpersonal relationship,which plays a part of mediating role.4.Group psychological counseling activities designed to improve the self-congruence of junior high school students can improve the degree of self-congruence of junior high school students and improve their interpersonal relationship to a certain extent.
