With the constant expansion of the scale of graduate enrollment, graduate elimination mechanism has become an important content of the higher education reform in China. However, in some universities, graduate elimination mechanism did not play an effective role in practice. The reason is that the elimination mechanism is not fully combining with moral, not to mention the functions of moral on graduate elimination mechanism. In fact, elimination mechanism and moral education are in close contact. The function is a two-way interactive process. To protect the graduate elimination mechanism have an effective operation, thus contribute to the universities’stabilization, harmonious and sustainable development. We should pay attention to the moral function of graduate elimination mechanism, with the perspective of moral education, based on the new content of moral education, actively expanding the mechanism of new ways and new areas, to provide new development opportunities for graduate students and universities.The purpose of elimination mechanism is to guide and encourage graduate students to cultivate the sense of competition, thus to improve the quality of graduate students.It’s established to educate, inspire graduate, and It’s a process to respect, guide and motivate. So it has a significant moral function. There are four aspects of specific functional performance:supervision, incentives, penalties and self-discipline. However, the graduate elimination mechanism failed to fully play its function of moral education. Even it has become a bottleneck to restrict the development of postgraduate education. The reason is mainly in three aspects:First, the universities lost the directionality of the Moral Education; second, the absence of graduate elimination mechanism causes the virtue defects; Third, the subject of moral education in universities exists virtue confused.There are many factors restricting the moral functioning of graduate elimination mechanism. Mainly the following three aspects:First, the myth of the concept of graduate education, specifically including Institutions for the training of the graduates lack of awareness, the graduate student instructors have a misunderstanding and graduate students lack of subjective consciousness and dynamic awareness. Second, deficiencies of the management system, such as inadequate implementation, not perfect evaluation system, the lack of appropriate oversight mechanisms and follow-up mechanisms. Third, external factors:the negative factors in the process of social transformation, some unhealthy tendencies in the social, corruption and so on. The negative factors affect the quality of the scholar and university’s academic environment.To solve the problem of the moral function of the graduate elimination mechanism is restricted, taking effective reform measures are necessary. We should reform the elimination mechanism from the theoretical level, institutional level, content, and education environment. Theoretical level:raise the collaborative dynamic of awareness at various levels. Under the guidance of a correct understanding, reform the graduate elimination mechanism. It is necessary to have a clear moral education goal in content. Enrich the moral content of graduate elimination mechanism, and create the implementation of the environment by relying on moral education of graduate elimination mechanism. Only with comprehensive grasp from several aspects, can play more systematically and more effectively the function of the moral education of graduate elimination mechanism. Expand the implementation of the new method of moral education as the basis graduate elimination mechanism in order to achieve improved methods. Only comprehensive grasp these aspects, the function of the moral education of graduate elimination mechanism can play more effectively and more systematically.
