With the continuous strong enrollment of higher education in China, a large number ofnewly established undergraduate education institutes (hereinafter called the new local colleges)emerged as the times require .And the number of new teachers in the new colleges is increasingyear by year. The professional development of new teachers in these new local colleges is avery valuable research topic. This study attempts to explore the true state of the new teachers’professional development from the perspective of the new local colleges, and analyze theproblems in the current new teacher professional development and the reasons, and put forwardmeasures and suggestions.This paper bases on lifelong education theory and teachers’ professional development stagetheory. The thesis first theory is lifelong education. University teachers should be with the times,constantly learning new theory and new practical skills, and continues for life, the only way topromote the continuous development of their professional. Then teachers’development stagetheory is mainly based on ,and that is divided into pre-service education into vocationaleducation and on-the-job education of three consecutive stages of development. Finally learningtheory to be addressed as another important theoretical basis to new teachers professionaldevelopment for new local colleges.I found many problems about the new teachers’development of new local colleges throughthe questionnaire and interview method. and analysis of the relevant reasons. New teacherprofessional development environment for the growth level has not very good promotion totheir professional development. The subject of government and the new local colleges that intechnological and operational level are significant constraints on the role and the new teachers’personal factors has the impact of their own professional development, then the paper analyzesthe reasons that led to these problems in detail.According to research findings, combined with relevant literature, and obtained the relevantrecommendations of the new teachers’ professional development in new local colleges. Fromthe government (such as fiscal spending, to protect the system of laws and regulations , tosupport the establishment of professional institutions, etc.), the new local colleges (inductionschool apprenticeship, to promote new teachers ’professional development through research, etc.) and the new teachers’ personal measures(such as planning, consciously educationalresearch, self-reflection) and three measures to take.In short, From learn the advanced experience ,which is not only new teachers should havea strong self-development requirements and related actions, but also the government and newlocal colleges must provide good conditions for new teachers, such as building a suitableplatform for the development, the establishment of system scientific, the new teachers’professional development system in order to better promote the new teachers’ professionaldevelopment of new local colleges.
