At present,the global higher education is in a period of constant change,development and a new round of higher education revolution is growing.In the new era,higher education reform needs to play its due role in realizing the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and building a strong country of higher education.In addition,the reform of higher education is constantly advancing and it is urgent to improve the quality of higher education.Its key step certainly needs a batch of high-quality professional teachers.Therefore,the professional development of college teachers has become the basis of cultivating successors in the new era and building a strong education country.This paper is to study the local college teachers in the new era and puts forward some effective strategies for the professional development of local college teachers in the new era.Firstly,this paper takes educational thought of Sinicized Marxism,the constructivism teacher learning theory,the teacher career development theory and the developmental teacher evaluation as the theoretical basis.The three core concepts in this paper are the new era,local colleges and the professional development of teachers.In accordance with the requirements of a series of contemporary documents issued by the Communist Party Central Committee for the reform and revitalization of the teaching staff,this paper conducts a questionnaire survey on the problems existing in the professional development of teachers in local colleges,and deeply analyzes the relevant reasons.Secondly,based on the analysis of the excellent experience and practice of teacher development in the United States,Japan,the United Kingdom and Germany,this study summarizes such as the concept of teacher renewal and development,the organization of teacher development,information-based teaching and scientific research.Finally,combined with the domestic status quo and excellent international experience,this paper puts forward effective strategies for the professional development of local university teachers in the new era from five aspects:First,adhere to the change of ideas and knowledge update in the new era.Teachers need to improve their sense of development,have the spirit of critical teaching reflection,and optimize the "Internet+" education teaching concept.Second,develop development projects suitable for local college teachers.It is necessary to formulate teachers’ career planning in line with their own characteristics,provide stratified classification system training for teacher development,add mutual employment and training programs for teachers in colleges,and promote teacher evaluation for development.Third,teaching academic ability to improve professional skills.It is necessary to optimize the content and form of teachers’ teaching and training,improve the teaching and academic exchange platform,and combining scientific research and teaching to improve teachers’ professional level.Fourth,scientific research and teaching improve teachers’ ability to educate people.Solve the problem of "teaching" and "research",and form a professional innovation demonstration team for teachers to adapt to the needs of training.Fifth,the integration of science and education enhances the ability of teachers to educate people.It needs not only the policy and financial support from the government,but also the gradual improvement of the functions of local institutions of higher learning,such as the teacher development center,the development of a flexible classification of teacher recognition and reward mechanism,and the improvement of teachers’ education practical ability.
