Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease of the airways. Currently the most effective drug controlling the airway inflammation is the Glucocorticosteroids(GCS). The administration route of GCS including inhalation, oral, and intravenous. In the treatment of asthma, GCS have some features, including strong activity, short action time, but the side effects are obvious. The use of Chinese Medicine is individualized for every patient, with less adverse effect, but it effects slowly. They each have advantages and disadvantages, so the subject of how to combine the GCS and the Chinese Medicine to achieve the ideal effect in the treatment of asthma is to be earnestly dealt with. In addition, the theory of the kidney-YANG deficiency through the whole asthma process is recognized by more and more scholars in recent years, and a large number of clinical observations and experimental support the positive effects of warming kidney in the treatment of asthma in the remission stage, but the research of warming kidney in the treatment of acute asthma is still less. The bases of Chuankezhi injection is Epimedium and Morinda. And its efficacy is enhancing kidney-YANG and Relieving Cough And Asthma. So the Study of Chuankezhi injection combined with GCS in the treatment of acute asthma and the effect of warming kidney in treating of acute asthma is meaningful. Objective:To study the Clinical efficacy of Chuankezhi injection combined with glucocorticoids in the treatment of acute asthma, and research clinical significance of warming kidney in treating of acute asthma.Methods:66cases selected were randomly divided into the treatment group of34patients and the control group of32cases. The control group was given GCS therapy (inhaled or intravenous or oral)+conventional treatment+dialectical chinese medicine treatment; the treatment group received GCS therapy (inhaled or intravenous or oral medication)+conventional treatment+dialectical chinese medicine treatment+Chuankezhi injection,4ml,bid,intramuscular injection. After A Week Observation, record the clinical symptoms and used for statistical analysis.(GCS therapy and conventional treatment reference the Guide for Prevention and Treatment of Asthma, including the definition, diagnosis, treatment and management of asthma. And the dialectical chinese medicine treatment don’t give the warming kidney drugs.)Results:Intra-group comparison:After the treatment, the total integrals of main symptoms、signs and secondary symptoms in both groups were decreased remarkably. Group comparison:Both total therapy effectiveness and single therapy effectiveness of the two groups were significantly improved after treatment. The effective rate of treatment group was97.06%, the total efficiency of the control group was90.62%, there was significant difference in the treatment group than the control group(P<0.01).The single symptom of wheezing, Chest Congestion, cough, the colors and quality of Sputum, mental fatigue, thirst and dry throat were improved more in the Treatment group compared with the control group. The two groups in the expectoration amount, expectoration difficulty, cold extremities, chills, appetite, weak waist and urine symptom improvement was no significant difference. Conclusions:Chuankezhi injection combined with GCS in the treatment of acute asthma is effectively, and the main symptoms (like gasp, Chest Congestion, cough, the colors and quality of Sputum) and signs (wheeze), and secondary symptoms (fatigue, thirsty and dry throat)are improved superior than control group. The method of enhance kidney-YANG can be used in the clinical treatment of acute asthma. In clinical, Chuankezhi injection have no significant side effects, and there were no adverse events occurred in both two groups.
