Purpose: This study determined to disuss the TCM syndrome distributionregularity of hyperthyroidism in the way of statistical analysis, through theclinical investigation of hyperthyroidism patients’sex, age and clinicalmanifestations. and concludes the main symptoms of patients withhyperthyroidism,providing objective guidance for clinical treatment anddialectical of traditional Chinese medicine.Objects and Methods: We summarize the symptoms from clinical researchguiding principles of new traditional Chinese medicines in the treatment ofhyperthyroidism of "guiding principles of clinical research on new drugs oftraditional Chinese medicine (Trial)"(2002)and core journals, and summarize5common TCM syndromes,respectively for liver and kidney yin deficiency syndrome,heart and liver internal heat excessive syndrome, spleen deficiency and dampnessexcess syndrome, spleen kidney yang deficiency syndrome, phlegm and firedisturbing internal syndrome. On the2011March to2011October,we underwenta clinical investigation of hyperthyroidism patients in the Affiliated Hospitalof Liaoning University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Department ofendocrinology clinic and and the Armed Police Corps Hospital thyroid specialistoutpatient in Liaoning province, was in line with the conditions of the patientswith hyperthyroidism in101cases.we analysed the general condition, medicalhistory, symptoms, tongue and pulse, physical examination,etc of the patientand induced the hyperthyroidism TCM syndromes distribution characteristics andmain symptoms.Results:1.Yin deficiency syndrome is the most part. According to frequency of occurrencein the order was liver and kidney yin deficiency syndrome (58%), heart and liverinternal heat excessive syndrome(24%), spleen deficiency and dampness excesssyndrome(9%), spleen kidney yang deficiency syndrome(7%), phlegm and fire disturbing internal syndrome(2%). FT4>4times the upper limit of normal value,liver and kidney yin deficiency syndrome (44%), heart and liver internal heatexcessive syndrome(31%),both for the group of75%. The upper limit of normalvalue <FT4<4times the upper limit of normal value, liver and kidney yindeficiency syndrome (60%), heart and liver internal heat excessive syndrome(22%), both for the group of82%.2. There are lots of common clinical symptoms of hyperthyroidism,which areirritability (95%), palpitations (92%), hand tremor (92%), lack of power (91%),weight loss (88%), thyroid enlargement (84%), forgetful (83%), hyperhidrosis(82%), muscle weak and feeble (82%), mouth thirst (79%), the evil heat(78%)etc,above all are prominent clinical manifestations of hyperthyroidism.Conclusion:1. According to frequency of occurrence,Traditional Chinese Medical SyndromeDistribution in order is liver and kidney yin deficiency syndrome, heart andliver internal heat excessive syndrome,spleen deficiency and dampnesssyndrome,spleen and kidney yang deficiency syndrome, phlegm and fire disturbinginternal syndrome.Regardless of severity of illness, liver and kidney yindeficiency syndrome and heart and liver internal heat excessive are the mostimportant TCM syndrome,and the former is the most important TCM syndrome.2. The main symptoms of hyperthyroidism are irritability, palpitations, fatigue,weight loss,hand tremor,goiter,forgetfulness,sweating,muscle weak and feeble,mouth thirst etc. Reflecting the features in the survey of hyperthyroidism.
