My mentor, professor LiuTong, engaged in Teaching and scientific researchof Cooperation of Chinese and Western medicine on cerebrovascular disease formany years， has accumulated rich clinical experience，and has original opinions oftreatment of Cooperation of Chinese and Western medicine of palpitation. Summaryof this paper discusses situation of treatment and research of Cooperation of Chineseand Western medicine on palpitation. The text part summarizes the original opinionsof my mentor, which are about treatment of Cooperation of Chinese and Westernmedicine of palpitation. My mentor thinks that the combination of “Bing” and“Zheng”,means the combination of different way of thinking and different theory system of TCMand Western medicine, and is a feasible method to achieve organic combination ofChinese and western medicine.“Bing”, is the Western medicine‘s understanding ofillness, which is gained by the use of the Western medicine‘s mode of thinking underthe guidance of the Western medicine‘s methodology. It is the whole course of theWestern medicine‘s diagnosis and treat, which contains the gathering of medicalhistory, kinds of necessary clinical examinations and laboratory tests, and thenarriving at the conclusion of diagnosis, drawing up treatment program and selectingout treatment principle, at last, forecasting the evolution of the illness.“Zheng”,Syndrome Differentiation, is subordinate to traditional Chinese medical science, whichis the marrow of TCM methodology, including two parts: first, diagnosis of TCM,means to differentiate the pathogenesis and to differentiate the location, cause andnature of the disease; second, treatment of TCM, means to select the correspondingtherapy according to the result of syndrome differentiation. When my mentor treatspalpitation, firstly, she has to find out the cause by using the theory of westernmedicine and to make a clear diagnosis of western medicine, and to refer to Westernmedicine’s understanding of pathogenesis and evolution of the illness，then todifferentiate the Syndrome,and to select the corresponding therapy not onlyaccording to the result of syndrome differentiation but also referring to the Successful experience of Western medicine treatment of palpitation, at the same time to make fulluse of the new achievements of modern research of TCM, finally to the choosetherapeutic herbs, thus can make the treatment of palpitation more targeted andachieve a good clinical effect.
