Dang Gui Yin Zi, as a common use prescription in therapy of heat caused by blooddeficiency and affection by exopathogenic wind, has been widely used in skin diseasetherapeutically. There are many point of views to where this prescription firstly appeared, andits ingredients also make great discrepancy, but the composition recorded in “Yan Shi JiSheng Fang”, which excluding ginger, is most widely applied to the clinical practice, there arealso some scholars consider it firstly appeard in “Jiao Zhu Fu Ren Liang Fang Da Quan” onMing dynasty.It is also can be seen in “Yi Zong Jin Jian” and”Zheng Zhi Zhun Sheng”.Dang Gui Yin Zi set the fuction of replenishing qi and consolidating the superficialresistance, nourishing Yin and cooling the blood, dispelling wind and arresting itching,promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis. Especially good at enriching theblood to restore normal menstruation.To this reason it is more used in the skin disease ofwhich has long course,or pruritic seriously,or impairment of yin,qi,and blood. All the herbused in this prescription cooperate with each other set the fuction of replenishimg qi andconsolidating the superficial resistance without evil influence staying, and expelling wind andevil influence without hurting the healthy environment, not only to reinforce, but also todisperse, treat both principal and secondary aspect of disease. The skin disease that Dang GuiYin Zi mainly cured are allergodermia, Pruritic dermatitis, mycotic infection dermatitis,Erythematosquamous dermatosis, vascular disease, hyperpigmentation.etc,It involves a totalof18disease and3660cases, and the disease such as Urticaria, Pruitus,Neurodermitis,Eczema are most common, accounting for92.4percent of total cases.The author retrieve the periodical literature that published from2001.1to2010.12aboutdiscussing clinical research of Dang Gui Yin Zi and its modified prescription more than103chapters as the research data, to discuss and summarize the pathogenesis, main symptoms,other important systoms and the herb adding-deleting regular, so that we can have a systemicsummarization and reaearch about the rules and features to serve as a beneficial reference forclinical usage.
