Traditional Chinese medicine has unique advantages in the treatment of this disease. The Chinese medicine treatment can regulate the body’s immunity, reduce complications, lessen the toxic and side effects of radiotherapy and chemotherapy. And it also can increase curative effect, reduce cancer recurrence and metastasis, enhance the quality of life of patients. For those who have lost the chance of operation, and are not suitable for chemotherapy and other treatment of patients, it provides a better therapeutic means. Although traditional Chinese medicine in the treatment of breast cancer is relatively slow, the change of tumor size, morphology and activity may be relatively not obvious, but the clinical symptoms of the patients can be improved, the quality of life can be enhanced, and long-term survival can be improved. In recent years, the predominance of Chinese medicine in the treatment of tumors has been recognized. Chinese medicine is widely used and increasingly valued by people, which becomes a major research hotspot.From the viewpoints of literature research, this thesis studied ancient research files including with the originality of the name of Breast cancer, the symptoms and the signs, the cause and the pathogenesis, the diagnosis and the prognosis, the methods of the treatments, the health preservation, etc. This thesis also studied the current research files including with the cause and the pathogenesis, the methods of treatments, the experiment study, etc.The thesis mainly includes literature review and ancient Chinese literature research two parts. Ancient Chinese literature research summarizes the name of breast cancer, the symptoms described by the ancient physicians, the understanding of etiology and pathogenesis and treatment methods. It also summarizes the clinical experiences of Professor Cao Yang in the breast cancer treatment, better verifies the understanding of ancient physicians on breast cancer etiology pathogenesis and treatment methods.
