Ovarian cancer is one of the most frequently malignant tumors in female. The symptoms hide deeply at first, and abdominal metastasis of the tumors could happen before symptoms come out. Over70%of the ovarian cancer patients are late when they see the doctors. The mortality rate of ovarian cancer has been at the top position of female genital tumors. Within the present medical science developmental level, we cannot explain the pathogenesis and turnover of ovarian cancer exactly. The research of ovarian cancer is continuing in early diagnosis and treatment and it has been in progress. The traditional Chinese medicine has full report on ovarian cancer. From the ancient files we can read records on the name, symptoms, causes and pathogenesis, the treatment methods and disease prevention of ovarian cancer.This thesis studied ancient and recent files including the pathogenesis and the diagnosis which summarized the early diagnosis and the function of the treatments in Chinese medicine.The traditional Chinese medicine has unique advantages on the treatment of ovarian cancer. The traditional Chinese medicine is widely used and increasingly valued in ovarian cancer treatment, which becomes a major research hotspot.This thesis includes two parts:the literature review and the ancient Chinese literature research.The literature review has two parts. Part one is the progress of the content focuses on Western medicine treatment of ovarian cancer, which including the summarizes of research findings and modern treatment methods:Ovarian cancer incidences with age, genetic factors, hormonal factors, obesity, and psychological factors. Early symptoms are not typical, gastrointestinal and urinary symptoms are usual. Gynecological examination can reveal the mass in the lower abdomen. The use of ultrasound will determine the location and nature of the tumor which should combine with changes in serum tumor markers in common judgment. The treatment with surgery is the preferred option, including adjunct to the chemical and radio therapy and biological therapy. These will make the chance of recurrence and metastasis in patients. But there are still many problems including adverse effects of chemotherapy and multi-drug resistance. Part two is about Chinese medicine which reports in recent years on treatment and development. This part summed up in traditional Chinese medicine for the treatment of ovarian cancer patients continuing putting adjuvant chemotherapy to reduce the recurrence of the probability of the existence of the advantages and metastasis and improving a long-term survival. These can be controlled to the extent, the growth of ovarian cancer, reducing the side effects of chemotherapy generated, increasing the efficacy, reducing the chance of complications and improving the quality of life for patients. And these will put forward to the theory of traditional Chinese medicine for the lack of succession.This thesis files is the research on traditional Chinese medicine including the originality of the name of ovarian cancer, the symptoms, the cause and the pathogenesis, the diagnosis, the methods of the treatments, the health preservation, etc. Meanwhile it summed up the impact of chemotherapy on ovarian cancer and machine generated, and the corresponding TCM treatment. And the malignant ascites raised the important role of Chinese medicine external treatment for ovarian cancer and its late appearance. It also summarizes the clinical experiences of Professor Cao Yang in the ovarian cancer treatment.
