Aim:In this comprehensive study, we want to find a quantization method to evaluate the effective of stroke.Method:In this clinical trial, we randomized block divided60patients with stroke spasticity into two treatment groups:acupuncture group (treatment group) and physiotherapy group (control group). All patients received5times treatment per week for4weeks. The effective is measured before treatment, after the first week, and the forth week. The outcome measured by Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS), clinical Spasm Index (CSI), and Foot Print Analysis.Result:MAS:no significantly difference between treatment group and phys iotherapy group. But at the4’"week acupuncture group compares with before treatment, shows p<0.01.SCI:in acupuncture group, before treatment compare wi th the4"’week, p<0.01, shows very significant difference. In physiotherapy group, there is no difference. Group comparison shows at the4" week, p<0.05, there is significant difference between these two groups.Foot Print Analysis:in acupuncture group, before treatment compare with1" week p>0.05, before treatment compare with the4th week is p<0.01. in physiotherapy group, before treatment compare with the1st and the4th week are all p>0.05. Group compare:before treatment compare wi th the1st is p>0.05; before treatment compare with4th week is p<0.01. it is very significant difference. Conclusion:MAS, CSI, and Foot Print Analysis all can evaluate the effective of stroke treatment. But Foot Pr int Analysis i s bet ter than CSI, and MAS. Acupuncture group is better than physiotherapy group.
