Objective:To investigate whether the MOV10L1gene exon SNP is necessary for protection Chinese Han male population against gout susceptibility, and to discusses the basic functions.Methods.-Hardy-Weinberg was used to verify the representativeness of the sample. A case-control study was performed in297patients and300controls. Genotyping of MOV10L1C/G polymorphisms was performed by DNA sequencing techniques. Genotyping was performed by the polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) method. Hardy-Weinberg was used to verify the representativeness of the sample. Comparisons between the groups were performed with x2test and t-test.Results:①Gout cases and controls are matched by age(P>0.05), the body mass index, waist to hip ratio, blood glucose, triglycerides, total cholesterol, uric acid, systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressur of gout group are significantly higher than controls(P<0.05), while compared with controls, there was no significantly between blood urea nitrogen and creatinine (P>0.05).②Compared with controls, there was a lower C/G geno-type and C allele frequency in the gout cases (4.7%vs.9.3%by genotype;2.4%vs.4.7%by allele). And the association to gout reached significance (P=0.036<0.05; P=0.0400.05crude OR=0.49,95%CI0.25-0.95) and OR (adjusted by age)=0.52,95%CI0.24-0.85.③No significant differences of phenotype between individuals carrying the CC,GC and GG genotype in MOV10L1SNP.(P>0.05)Conclusions:Our results suggested that the MOV10L1gene exon polymorphism is necessary for protection Chinese Han male population against gout susceptibility.
