[Object] To know the knowledge, attitudes, and pactices (KAP) status of the college students in Qinghai, and to provide the basis of health education targeted college students on hepatitis B prevention.[Methods] A multi-stage cluster sampling method was be adopted,1~3departments were be selected randomly in the8colleges and universities in Qinghai Province, and1~2classes were be selected randomly according to the size of the departments, the total of811college students were be selected. The survey was be conducted by the professionals who were be trained, the method of questionnaire was be adopted in the activities. The Epidata3.0software was adopted to establish a database, and the method of the descriptive epidemiology was be used to analyze the information.[Results] Knowledge:The college student understood the knowledge of Hepatitis B prevention and control is not comprehensive and system. The college students do not mastery some knowledge, for example, the low awareness of hepatitis B prevention and control knowledge, only26.88%of the students understand the main mode of transmission of hepatitis B, lower than the goals which is mentioned in the plan of2006-2010national hepatitis B viral prevention and control, that is the awareness of hepatitis B prevention and control knowledge to achieve the target of more than80%for the people to2010. Female college students think that daily life contact cannot be infected with hepatitis B exposure than male college students. The awareness rate of han nationality college students is higher than the minority college students in the pathogens of hepatitis B, whether or not to marry for hepatitis B virus carriers, and the most effective measures to prevent hepatitis B. The awareness rate of medical majors students is significantly higher than the non-medical majors in using the same syringe by multi-person can spread hepatitis B, chronic hepatitis B can develop into cirrhosis, liver cancer, the pathogen causing hepatitis B, daily life contact cannot be infected with hepatitis B, the most effective measures to prevent hepatitis B and etc., Attitude:There is not a positive attitude in college students on the hepatitis B virus carriers. There are differences in the attitude of sharing a meal with the hepatitis B Virus carriers in the medical majors students and non-medical majors students, the number of medical majors students is more than non-medical majors students in the attitude of "do not mind", and the number of non-medical majors students is more than medical majors students in the attitude of "mind".Immunization of hepatitis B vaccine:The coverage of hepatitis B vaccine is low in the college students, and the coverage of three doses of hepatitis B vaccine is only25.88%in the college students. The coverage of hepatitis B vaccine of han nationality college students is higher than the minority college students.[Conclusions] The knowledge of hepatitis B for the college students needs to be improved; The college students have an attitude of prejudice and social discrimination against the hepatitis B virus carriers, and cannot correctly deal with the side of the hepatitis B virus carriers; the coverage of hepatitis B vaccine is lower in the college students, and cannot form an effective immune barrier. We should establish the working mechanism of long-term prevention and control hepatitis B, and targeted strengthen publicity and education to college students on knowledge of hepatitis B prevention and control through radio, internet, seminars in accordance with the immunization program, effective immunization of hepatitis B vaccine, and to protect college students from hepatitis B virus infection.
