Modern port operations are increasingly dependent on the modern equipment that tends to be large-scale, complexity, automation with the development of the large-scale and modernization of the port. The operating efficiency of the port is improved and the port’s economic development is accelerated because of updates and changes in the port equipment. But it increases the probability of contact between port workers and port equipment which can increase security risk of the port at the same time. It can clearly be seen that the security of the port equipment is not only related to the port production activities carried out smoothly, and is also related to the lives and safety of port workers. The security of the port equipment must be given adequate attention.The major equipment of the port is the object to study in this paper. it includes two main parts which are safety supervision and accident emergency. The connotation of the major equipment of the port safety supervision is wide, and it focuses on the risk management of the major equipment in this paper. First of all, the types of the major equipment (including special equipment) are defined, the risk level of the major equipment is analyzed, and the risk assessment of the major equipment is also made using fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. On the basis of the risk assessment, with the historical risk data, combined BP neural network model, the risk situation forecast of the major equipment is realized. The accident emergency management involves also a great many content, and the emergency disposal methods and emergency information are focused on in this paper. The emergency disposal methods library is created after the analysis of the accident types and the emergency disposal methods of the major equipment. For the importance of the emergency resources for emergency disposal, emergency personnel database and emergency equipment database are created. The function design of the emergency information system is complete and emergency information prototype system is developed. The study that is for the safety supervision and emergency information system of the major equipment of the port can prove effective support to accident prevention, early warning and rapid response, in order to protect the security of the major equipment and reduce accident losses.
