Acidental consequences analysis of city gas pipeline involves spatial information, such as the natural environment along the pipeline, geographical conditions, the position of pipeline facilities, the position of accidents and the influenced range. Especially when major hazards exist around the pipeline, it may trigger a domino accident, and make accident consequences enlarged and the loss intensified. According to the characteristics of city gas pipeline accidents, and based on the consequences analysis method of major accidents and the principle of domino effect, the accidental consequences analysis model of the city gas pipeline is established. With the combination of the strong advantages of GIS in spatial data management, spatial analysis and other information processing spatial characteristics, the evaluation of visualization technology is further realized. Research results provide a new method and idea for pipeline accidental consequences analysis, and is of important theoretical significance and application value to reduce accident loss and improve the level of safety management of city gas pipeline.The following several parts are included in this paper:1. The study of the development of relevant fields. Through the domestic and international research on risk assessment of the city gas pipeline and the theory accidental consequences analysis, the results of application and practice are summarized, and the current development and insufficient of accidental consequences analysis of city gas pipeline are in-depth analyzed;2. Based on the analysis of characteristics of accidents, the harm mode of the city gas pipeline accidents, the mechanism of domino accidents and other related contents are expounded;3. According to the method of major accidental consequences analysis, accidents of leakage, diffusion, fire, and explosion are quantitativly analyzed to determine the influence range of city gas pipeline accidents;4. With the application of the principle of domino effect, the domino accident unit is determined, within which the domino accident scenes of hazards are generated, and the probability and influence scope of a domino accident are calculated;5. Software of city gas pipeline accidental consequences analysis based on GIS is programed through VC++6.0and MapX. With the integration of GIS and the model of accidental consequences analysis, spatial distribution of the calculation results of the accidental consequences analysis is realized. And accidents of a certain city gas pipeline are simulated and analyzed by the application of the software.
