With the continuous improvement of the urban development, the scale of urban underground space infrastructure construction increases constantly. It has important realistic significance to make underground space infrastructure management scientific, standardized and visual with the digital measurement, detection and GIS technologies.The pioneer area in Tianjin Development Zone has already begun to take shape. The municipal infrastructure construction has been started, especially various types of underground pipelines have been laid. Underground space infrastructure data at home and abroad, the present situation and development trend of the information management will be researched and analyzed. According to the actual work of the pioneer area, this paper commences the study which is aimed at the work goal to meet demand. Firstly, it will propose a method that underground pipeline position will be measured with the digital detection and GPS-RTK positioning technology. And underground pipeline database structure and the database construction will be researched through the data acquisition and management. Secondly, Combined with the application requirements of the management information system of the pioneer area, the three-dimensional simulation system will be developed with the modeling and image rendering technologies of 3DS MAX. And it will be established that the underground pipeline geographic information system and the relevant practical function. Then the function and character of the system will be tested strictly.The results will show that the pipeline detection method can meet the requirements of underground pipeline measurement accuracy, underground pipeline database structure can meet the requirements of the pipeline management work in the pioneer area, and the relevant function of information management system is reliable and practical.
