This paper discussed the use of comics in middle-level and high-level Chinese writing classes for Korean. The first chapter introduced the background and the meaning of the topic, as well as the research method and the study object. This chapter also summarized the present use of comics in the language teaching both at home and abroad. We found that in the area of teaching English and other languages both at home and abroad, as well as teaching Chinese as the first language, relevant research results about using comics in classes could easily be found. However, in the area of teaching Chinese as a second language, there were rare research results in this subject. The second chapter discussed the theoretical feasibility of using comics in TCFL (Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language) writing classes. Through literature research, this paper proved that the Duel Coding Theory could promote the Second Language writing level of the writers by doing good to the writing circular process, and that the video and audio code could help writers with the TCFL writing process. At the end of this chapter, we discussed the features of comics and the role of it in TCFL writing.Chapter Three analyzed the use of comics in the current TCFL writing teaching books, and found that the use of comics is realized but not paid attention to, especially for those high-level teaching books. The second part of this chapter introduced some comics recourses and comic creation software for teachers.Through the statistical analysis of questionnaire and interview survey, Chapter Four studied the requires of comics as well as the teaching methods and details in TCFL writing classes, and gave some suggestion about the teaching preparation, class organization, mission requirements and writing outcome evaluation in writing classes which used comics. In the last Chapter, we presented a instructional design on using comics in TCFL writing classes, which includes a overall instructional design for a whole term and a specific instructional design for one of the special topics.Through the studies mentioned above, this paper demonstrated the feasibility and superiority of using comics in TCFL writing classes, and presented suggestions and instructional design for teaching. By all these efforts, we hope to enrich the teaching method and teaching materials of TCFL writing classes, and provide a useful reference for the TCFL writing.
