Chinese economy is developing rapidly since step into twenty-first Century, with the developing of economy; skilled vocational technicians who have a good command of English are greatly needed by all professions. Such requirements challenge our vocational education seriously. Vocational education carried out many reforms in China, especially for English courses, carried out a bold reform and innovation from education policy, teaching models and methods, ask for competency-based, meet the needs of the market economy and adapt to the economic development. But seems worried from current English teaching situation and quality, from the numerous document studies, seems the majority of current English teaching and research is mainly for universities, middle schools and primary schools, but few for vocational schools. In this case, the vocational school English teaching are further discussed, and seek to practically improve the quality of English teaching countermeasures, it is not only necessary, but also very urgent.The paper uses the method of literature, collect, clean up, analysis massive literature material from the China hownet database, XinYu library, and JiangXi YuZhou vocational school library etc, learn from the predecessor’s research in achievements, to improve the theory accomplishment, broaden the field of vision of research. On this basis, combining with JiangXi YuZhou vocational school situation, further enrich and deepen the English teaching theory system. Using the interview of the school leader, the English teachers, the students of the Jiangxi YuZhou vocational school and the responsible person of the enterprise discovers English teaching problems and the requirements about students’ English language of the enterprise, and get the first-hand material as the foundation for analysising and solving the problemResearch shows that the plight of vocational schools have some characteristics as follow:less Input, the hardware is not hard, the software is not soft; poor teaching methods, teaching ability is not high; unsatisfactory student learning outcomes; Teaching and testing can not highlight the vocational education. The main reason include:the lack of knowledge of English teaching, English teaching mechanism is not active interest in learning English is not concentrated, strong adaptability of enterprises. To get out of the plight of the English teaching of vocational schools and improve the effectiveness of English teaching, it is necessary to establish the management system of vocational school English teaching, teach English according to the characteristics of vocational school students, stimulate vocational school teachers and students teaching enthusiasm, and formulated specifically for vocational school English courses programs and materials. Aim to find a suitable way for our vocational school English teaching to change the inefficient English teaching situation, to provide reference for the future English teaching, to better promote further reform, and to truly improve students’ English skill level.
