A Comparative Study Of Attachment And Loneliness Between The Home-based Elderly And The Nursing Home Elderly In Urban

With the aging population continues to deepen, people pay close attention to the psychological status issue of the elderly. Researchers generally investigated the elderly in Chengdu, analyzed the current status and distribution characteristics of elderly attachment and loneliness, and explore the relationship between the endowment patterns with attachment and loneliness. Using the method of sample randomly to selected home-based care for the aged old people and nursing homes care for the aged old people. We selected the subjects through a multistage cluster sampling procedure and distilled home-based care for the aged old people and nursing homes care for the aged old people from the Chengdu City. There are209old people who has been investigated by the general social survey questionnaire, Experiences in Close Relationship and Relationship Questionnaire, UCLA Loneliness Scale,home social survey interview questionnaire and nursing homes social survey interview questionnaire in this research, and they are over60year old,112of them are home-based care for the aged old people,97are nursing homes care for the aged old people.After analysis of the questionnaire, it concludes as follows:(1) The average score of attachment avoidance, attachment anxiety, loneliness among the elderly in the Chengdu City is3.40±0.80,4.41±0.75,43.95±6.60.(2) Attachment avoidance and attachment anxiety of the elderly of gender, age, education degree, endowment patterns had significant difference. Loneliness of the elderly of gender, age, education degree, different occupation and endowment patterns had significant difference.(3) In the home-based care for the aged old people, attachment avoidance, attachment anxiety and loneliness of the mode of living, marital status had significant difference. In the nursing homes care for the aged old people, attachment avoidance, attachment anxiety and loneliness of the voluntary stay at the nursing home had significant difference.(4) Different kinds of attachment will influence the loneliness in old people. In general, the secure of subjects have obviously lower than insecure one, such ignored, contradicted and scared. The secure of attachment is the main type, followed by the ignored, contradicted and scared in the home-based care for the aged old people. The contradicted and ignored of attachment is the mind type, next scared and secured of attachment, the insecure of attachment of88.7%.(5) On correlation analysis of endowment patterns, attachment and loneliness, attachment avoidance, attachment anxiety and loneliness related to significantly positive correlation. Endowment patterns and attachment avoidance, attachment anxiety, loneliness related to significantly positive correlation.(6) The analysis of regression shows that Attachment avoidance, attachment anxiety, and endowment patterns of support all entered the regression equation for loneliness. Endowment patterns, Attachment is closely related to loneliness. Loneliness can be predicted by endowment patterns, attachment avoidance, attachment anxiety.
