In recent years, with the rapid development of China’s economy and the continuous improvement of international status, the demand of Chinese is increasing rapidly. With the in-depth development of the relationship between China and Thailand, the number of Chinese learners increases sharply every year. Chinese has gradually become a major foreign language as important as English in Thailand. As a result, the study of Chinese and Chinese teaching has become one of the significant topics in the history of Sino-Thai bilateral relations.Classroom teaching of a language is a dynamic process. The classroom activities are the concentrated expression of the dynamic process of teaching, and the main part and manner of language teaching. Classroom activities not only reveal the essential characteristics of language teaching, but also are able to achieve the main goal of language teaching——improving learners’ communicative competence. The ultimate purpose and main way of language teaching are mostly reflected in the oral Chinese class, so the research in Chinese teaching that how to make communicative classroom activities become an effective way to improve students’ communicative competence is well worth studying in Thai universities. It has the high value of practical application and inspiration for the promotion of Chinese in Thailand.Based on the current situation of oral Chinese class for intermediate level learners in Thai universities, the thesis investigates and analyzes the implementation of classroom activities in oral Chinese class in Thailand. Taking the communicative classroom activities as the starting point, and combined with the author’s own practical experience in oral Chinese class for intermediate level learners in the Department of Chinese in Burapha University of Thailad, the thesis designs several suitable teaching modes for the communicative classroom activities of oral Chinese class for intermediate level learners in Thai universities. In the end, it analyzes the advantages and difficulties that the communicative classroom activities encountered in the practice of oral Chinese teaching, and provides suggestions for the classroom activities of oral Chinese class for intermediate level learners.
