Xie Zhaozhe (1567-1624), whose given name is "Zaihang" and who styledhimself as "Wulin", born in Changle, Fujian.He passed the jinshi examination whenhe was only26years old in Ming Wanli’s20years. Then he had been elected as"Tuiguan",even the left provincial administrative commissioner. During his life,XieZhaozhe had undergone the political、economic and social transformation of the entireWangli Dynasty(1573-1620). Xie Zhaozhe was born in a scholarly family andintelligent, he learned how to write a poem almost10years old. Someday a manshowed him the painting of “Shepherd Su Wu ", he said: the clothes full of sands andthe sky full of snows, things had been scattered into the edge of the sea and clouds.The wild goose of ShangLin arrived late, and the nineteen years in Xiongnu was souseless."Adult Xie Zhaozhe was good at poetry, he was a leader poet of Fujian in thelate Ming Dynasty, and he always making communication with brothers Xu、brothersChen、Deng Yuanyue、Cao Xuequan and other poets. All of these resulted in the thirdclimax of poetics in fujian. Xie Zhaozhe’s poems were full of his own unique criticalinsights and distinctive regional inheritance, which had a great influence onsociety.Qian Qianyi regarded him as " the soul of Fujian poetic religion ", Tu Longalso said:" When Huang Baizhong and I discussed the poetic situations in late MingDynasty, once talked to Fujian, Zai Hang was the center of Fujian poetic field.”We try to research Xie Zhaozhe’s poetic theory in this paper with six sections, soas to analyze Xie Zhaozhe’s viewpoints reflected from poetry、poetry anthology andPoetry criticism.The first chapter is a brief overview on the value of Xie Zhaozhe’s poetic theoryand related works; here we put forward our methods and the train of thought.The second chapter is centered on Xie Zhaozhe’s poetry ontological, which canbe divided into three parts: the origin of poetry、the essence of poetry and thelanguage of poetry. The aim of this chapter is to understand his poetry ontology.The third chapter is centered on Xie Zhaozhe’s poetic creation theory, which canalso be divided into three parts: the subject of poetic creation、the objective aspects ofpoetic creation、combination of the subject with objective aspects. The aim of thischapter is to explore his understanding on the processes of poetic creation.The fourth chapter is centered on Xie Zhaozhe’s poetic esthetic theory, which regard the " abundance of spirits"、“artistic conception" and " colorless " as the mostimportant parts, in order to grasp the core of his poetic esthetics theory.The fifth chapter is centered on the origin and tendency of Xie Zhaozhe’s poetictheory, in the purpose of having a good understanding on his basic poetic tendencyand exploring the origin of his thoughts.Finally, we conclude the influence and historical position of Xie Zhaozhe’spoetic theory, and expound how to deepen his poetic theory based on this paper.
