Chinese culture has been influenced Korean for long time. The field it influencedwas not only limited in ideology or politic systems, but also included linguistic area.Inmodern Korean, almost60%of Korean vocabularies oirginally came from Chinesecharacters. And this fact can prove that the Chinese character has deeply affectedKorean language.Chinese characters used in both countires basically have same meaning andusage.But some of the characters have a little bit different meaning in thecountries,and some of those are even totally different, however, when Korean studentsstudy Chinese, they unconsciously consider that identical characters ought to havesame meanings.As a consequence, they directly use their knowledge about localizedChinese character, which can be a terrible mistake since there are some charactershave different meanings in both countries as I mentioned above.This research will take Korean language textbook as research object, categorizethe Chinese characters appeard in the book and explain the way how the charactersused in China and Korea. The mam puipose of this research is to provide a usefulreference model for students th’ose who studying Chinese so that they wontmisunderstand or be confused when they deal with Chinese characters.The result of the research proved that about71.1%of Chinese characters bothhave identical shapes and meanings in two countries. This means that Korean studentshave comparative advantage when they study Chinese compared to the students fromwestern countires.Even though some of the Chinese characters have difference inmeaning, however, as the quantity of this kind of character is li’mited, it wontseriously influence the efficienty of studying.To summarize, the similarity observed inb,oth countriesChinese characters will help Korean students to improve their Chineseskills relatively faster...
