Context attracts more and more attention in teaching Chinese as a foreign language in recent years. In the process of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, proper application of the context is a useful method to solve the problems in listening teaching and improve teaching effect. Based on contest theory and teaching experience, this paper discusses feasibility and superiority in applying context in the listening teaching, and explains how to apply context theory in listening teaching processes.This article includes five parts. Part one is the introduction. It introduces the object, the research situation in and abroad, methods of the research and significance of the research. Part two explains the context, its composing and variety, goals and important points in intermediate listening teaching in Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language. This part reasons out that the context is viable and useful in intermediate listening teaching. Part three describes the application of the context in intermediate listening teaching from two aspects:first are the tree methods; second is how to apply the context in the process of listening teaching. Part four puts forward four principles in intermediate listening teaching based on the context. Chapter five is the conclusion.
