The word modes is a structural model to generate new words,it not only has a strongproductive nature,also has syntax and semantic rules. For example, the word module “X+花”iscomposed by“菊花”、“梅花”、“杏花”、“桃花”and so on. it’s semantic restriction is“某种花”。Because of its productive and analogy,the teaching method of the word mold can be used as ahelper method in the Teaching of Foreign Language Vocabulary. This paper has been identifiedthe word module from a variety of published modern Chinese vocabulary and dictionary whichused by the Vocabulary Teaching to Foreigners,and strictly limited the structure meaning andsemantic restrictions,and classified the words in the same mode by frequency. On this basis, thelibrary of high frequency word modes and words in the same mode formed(referred to wordmodes library). The word modes library contains1000word modes and10000words in the samemode. for the Teaching of Foreign Language Vocabulary this article gives suggestions: Inteaching, the structure meaning and semantic restrictions must be simple; for different audiences,the introduction of word modes should be timely and adequately.
