Objective: Trace elements usually refers to the elements which is lessthan0.01%of the human body weight. According to its nutrition functioncharacteristics and physiological function, trace elements can be classified intofour categories: the essential trace elements, the likely essential trace elements,the innocuous tace elements and the noxious trace elements. Trace elementshas a close relation with the human health and plays an important role in thehuman life process. As far as the trace elements in the metabolism process canneither decompose nor change into other elements. Therefore, we can learn itsdistribution characteristics through detecting the trace elements in humanblood. This research described the content and distribution characteristics ofCu, Zn, Se, Mn, Mo, Co, Ni, V, As, Sr, Ge, Rb, Cs, Ti, Pb, Cd, Sb, Te and Gain whole blood, choosing the general population of Chengde as participants.The study then discussed the influence of age, sex and eating habits ontrace elements, and determined the normal reference range of the19traceelements in human whole blood.Methods:1subjects of general population aged between6and60year-old wererecruited in Chengde, by multi-stage sampling method. participants hadquestionnaire survey, and their blood samples were also collected.2Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) was appliedto test the Cu, Zn, Se, Mn, Mo, Co, Ni, V, As, Sr, Ge, Rb, Cs, Ti, Pb, Cd, Sb,Te and Ga in whole blood.3The statistical calculations were performed with the SPSS19.0. Thenormal reference range of microelement according with normal distribution isfrom x-1.96s to x+1.96s, and the reference value of microelement accordingwith partial distribution is from P2.5to P97.5or0to P95. Results:1581local residents were surveyed The total range of trace elements inwhole blood of general population is Cu(492.08-1250.98μg/L), Zn(1503.39-6006.78μg/L), Se(99.68-342.33μg/L), Mn(4.49-28.39μg/L), Mo(0.17-3.84μg/L), Co(0.28-1.24μg/L), Ni(0.81-117.84μg/L), V(1.31-8.47μg/L), As(0.95-56.44μg/L), Sr(12.01-52.44μg/L), Ge(18.25-92.51μg/L), Rb(938.40-3560.38μg/L),Cs(0.67-6.44μg/L), Ti(99.71-184.67μg/L), Pb(4.99-105.05μg/L),Cd(0.10-19.69μg/L),Sb(0.13-14.80μg/L), Te(0.11-2.36μg/L), Ga(0.06-0.73μg/L).2In whole blood, Cu, Se, Mn, Mo, Co, Ni and V are found to approachthe skew distribution, while Zn are normal distribution.3There is statistical difference between men and women about thecontent of Cu, Zn, Se, Mn, Co, Ni, V, Ge, Rb, Ti, Pb, Te in whole blood. Butthere isn’t any statistical difference between men and women about the contentof Mo, As, Sr, Cs, Cd, Sb, Ga in whole blood.4The content of Ge, Rb, Pb in men’s whole blood, the content of Cu inwomen’s,and the content of Zn, Se, Ni, Te, Mo, As, Cs, Cd, Sb in both menand women have positive correlation with age; The content of Cu, Co in men’swhole blood, the content of Ge, Rb, Pb in women’s,and the content of Mn, V,Ti, Sr, Ga in both men and women have negative correlation with theirage;The content of Co in women’s whole blood has no correlation with theirage.5The frequency of eating fried food has a certain influence with thecontent of Cu, Ni, As, Cs, Ge, Ti, Cd, Sb, Te, Ga in whole blood. The contentof Cu, Ni, As, Cs, Cd, Sb, Te reduces and the congtent of Ge, Ti, Ga increaseswith the frequency adds. The frequency of eating barbecue food has a certaininfluence with the content of Zn, Ni, V, As, Sr, Rb, Cs, Ti, Cd, Sb, Te, Ga inwhole blood. The content of Zn, Ni, As, Cs, Cd, Te reduces and the congtentof V, Sr, Rb, Ti, Sb, Ga increases with the frequency adds. The frequency ofeating seafood has a certain influence with the content of Se, Co, V, Sr, Rb, Ti,Ga in whole blood. The content of V, Sr, Rb increases with the frequency adds, and the content of Se, Co, Ti, Ga has no obvious change trend.Conclusion: The normal reference ranges of trace elements in wholeblood is Cu(591.15-969.21μg/L), Zn(2382.35-5537.20μg/L), Se(116.47-240.22μg/L), Mn(5.84-15.40μg/L), Co(0.31-0.67μg/L), Ni(0.81-8.29μg/L), V(2.04-6.07μg/L), Ge(36.47-87.24μg/L), Rb(1665.25-3039.62μg/L), Ti(115.45-176.50μg/L), Pb(0-60.41μg/L), Te(0-0.82μg/L)formen; Cu(626.25-1063.5μg/L), Zn(2561.40-4800.17μg/L), Se(115.17-206.72μg/L), Mn(6.52-19.01μg/L), Co(0.39-0.97μg/L), Ni(1.94-12.40μg/L), V(2.06-6.68μg/L), Ge(36.99-76.44μg/L), Rb(1370.75-2914.15μg/L), Ti(108.09-162.20μg/L), Pb(0-49.92μg/L), Te(0-0.93μg/L) for women; Mo(0.17-1.94μg/L), As(0.95-6.77μg/L),Sr(14.15-41.39μg/L), Cs(0.91-4.27μg/L), Cd(0-4.80μg/L), Sb(0-5.09μg/L),Ga(0-0.31μg/L) for men and women.
