Objective:The research investigates the situations of all infectious disease patients from aninfectious diseases hospital in Suzhou, while the period of the time for this research isten years from2003year to2012year. In this paper, some different types ofinfectious diseases are discussed. The circumstances and the distribution characteristicsof infectious diseases are studied. The research aims to formulate effectivelymeasurements to deal with and prevent the diseases based on the analysis of the regularpattern and characteristics of infectious diseases.Method:The retrieval of clinical data provided with collection, collation and analysis of Theinformation of patients (from2003~2012) of a certain Hospital for Infectious Diseasesin Suzhou was collected. By using the descriptive epidemiological method, the trends ofa wide variety of infectious diseases were analysed and the change regulation of thosediseases can be summarizedResult:From2003to2012, the Infectious Diseases Hospital has diagnosed and treated37543cases of infectious diseases in total. Apart from plague, SARS, H1N1influenza,polio, human infection with highly pathogenic avian influenza, anthrax, leptospirosis,diphtheria, filariasis, hydatid disease, leprosy, epidemic and endemic typhus, influenza,kala-azar, all other kinds of infectious diseases have been reported,and B infectiousdiseases account for most. The top ten infectious diseases are14747cases for viralhepatitis (39.28%),7051cases for TB (18.78%),3371cases for mumps (8.98%),3097cases for syphilis (8.25%),2651cases of measles (7.06%),2061casesforhand-foot-mouth disease (5.49%),2020cases for chickenpox (5.38%),732cases forHIV (1.95%),668cases for scarlet fever (1.78%),236cases for virus dysentery (0.63%) and908cases for other infectious diseases (2.42%). The number of treated cases of viralhepatitis was on the decline, but still remain top one. The morbidity of blood bornediseases and sexually transmitted diseases is rising. Morbidity is associated withseasons, with a higher incidence from March to July. Also, there is an increasingnumber of hand-foot-and-mouth disease, measles, mumps, scarlet fever and bacterialdysentery during this period. New infectious diseases indicate a trend of outbreak, suchas hand-foot-and-mouth disease, ranking in the top five cases since it has been brokenout widely in2009.Conclusion:There is an overall upward trend in the cases of infectious diseases treated inSuzhou. Acute respiratory infections, blood-borne and sexually transmitted diseases arestill the prevention focus. Liver disease and TB remain the major infectious diseasesthat threaten human health. Hand-foot-mouth disease has become one of the majorinfectious diseases that threaten children’s health. Preschools and primary schools arethe main target for prevention and control task. It is necessary to strengthen thetreatment and prevention knowledge of syphilis and AIDS, thus curbing the incidence ofAIDS, as well as alerting to outbreaks of emerging infectious diseases. It is of necessaryto strengthen the prevention and control of floating population and entry-exit personnelin the future.
