The Association Of Polymorphism Of FTO Gene SNP With Type2Diabetes And Metabolic System

Objective:To explore the association of polymorphism of FTO Gene SNP with Type2Diabetes and Obesity.Methord:The382T2DM patients were compared with340normal controls.So there were722subjects in this study.All subjects were chinese Han origin and came from the area of Linyi city of Shandong.FTO rs9940128was genotyed using restriction fragment length polymorphism teconology.T2DM related traits were assessed in a standardized fashion.ResuItrBoth FTO rs9940128allele and genotype distribution were not significantly different between T2DM patients and the normal control population.To BMI and LDL-C、TG,there was a significant increase in frequency of AA genotype of FTO rs9940128in T2DM patients.The increase remained significant even after controlling for age,gender.To clinical biochemical datas and BMI,there was no signifiant difference among the genotype subgroup in the normal control group.Conclusion:FTO rs9940128is not likely to confer susceptibility to T2DM in Han poupulation of southern Shandong Province.FTO rs9940128is associated with the obesity and the higher level of the LDL-C of the people mentioned above.
