Research On The Problem Of Rural Drinking Water Safety In China

Water is the source of life, and it is the basis for human survival. The level of water quality and quantity is an important symbol which measures the civilization degree of countries and regions. Now, the level of water quality and quantity is directly related to China’s overall process and the level of civilization. Since the reform and opening up, China’s economy has grown sustained, fast and healthy, enhanced overall national strength and all walks of life has developed rapidly. As an important basic of life, the drinking water supply infrastructure is still in a natural development of the state. It is divorced from the rapid development of economic situation in rural areas, and starts to restrict the further improvement of the farmers’ quality of life. The shortage of water supply and the deterioration of water quality have led to some drinking water-related diseases; moreover, it impacts on people’s health and life safety seriously. Therefore, accelerating the development of rural drinking water supply relates to the social and economic development in rural areas. This article tries to analyze the current situation and the problems of rural drinking water supply and give some practical recommendations lines for these issues from the reality of the development of China’s rural drinking water supply.This paper consists of six chapters. Chapter1analyzes why the writer choose the drinking water safety in rural areas as the research object. In the current situation, the safety of drinking water is the main factor that affects social stability, and the government must take the appropriate policies to solve this problem. Chapter2discusses the changes of rural drinking water safety projects. Chapter3states the dilemma of the safety of drinking water in rural areas mainly from four aspects. According to the plight faced by the rural drinking water safety, Chapter4, combined with the theory of public goods, analyzes the causes of the problems. Chapter5puts forward countermeasures to solve the existing problems. Chapter6summarizes the previous chapter and elaborates a conclusion.This paper uses the basic theory of public goods to define the economic attributes of our drinking water supply in rural areas; describes the history of the development of the rural drinking water supply, and then combines with the development of the rural drinking water supply to discuss the problems of water supply and analyses its reasons in-depth; Finally, using the advanced experience both at home and abroad,the writer puts forward countermeasures to solve the problems of drinking water supply.
