Objective:The purpers is to observe curative effect of the Tiaochang Tang in thetreatment of senile functional constipation, and compared with the treatmentcurative effect of Maren pills.Through two aspects of theory and clinicalresearch to explore the mechanism of action of Tiaochang Tang, evaluate itssafety and clinical effectiveness, toprovided scientific and reliable basis forclinical application.Method:1.60cases of senile constipation patients collected from hubei provincialhospital of TCM were from the gerontology and the inpatient wards ofdigestive diseases and the digestive diseases expert outpatient,betweenSeptember2011and September2011.according to the order of visits, dividedinto two group:30cases for treatment group and30cases for controlgroup.Treatment group was given Tiaochang Tang. its main drugs were asfollow:Raw huangqi20g,Coastal glehnia root30g,Radix scrophulariae20g,Bunge cherry seed15g,Raw radix rehmanniae20g,Raw atractylodes30g,Radix paeoniae alba20g.One dose a day, water frying take500ml, oralbefore meals for30minutes,twice a day.Control group was given Maren pills(production from Wuhan Taifiu Pharmaceutical Co.Ltd,Z42021844)treatment.And its main drugs were:Hemp seed, almond, rhubarb,Immature bitter orange, hopu,Radix paeoniae alba,honey.6g(33pills) per time, twice a day,30minutes before eating by warm boiled water.Treatment group and controlgroup were both given treatment4weeks as a course of treatment,Treatmentdiscontinuation observation after4weeks of treatment and follow-up.Observeand records patients, symptoms(stool, defecation time interval, fecal mass, defecation time)and the general physical condition (urine stool routine, electrocardiogram, liver function, kidney function, etc.) before and aftermedication and after treatment discontinuation one course.2.Data collected of60cases was using SPSS16.0statistical softwareanalysis, calculation of the treatment group and control group in front of thegender, age, course and treatment of traditional Chinese medicine symptomintegral of comparability.Calculation to compare the treatment group andcontrol group of efficient and traditional Chinese medicine symptom scorebefore and after the treatment, the recurrence rate. Rank data was used by theRidit analysis data, count data by χ2test, measurement data using t test.Results:1.In evaluating curative effect, one month after treatmentin, the treatmentgroup,10cases were cured,8cases were markedly effective,9cases ofeffective and ineffective were3, the control group recovered6cases,5caseswere markedly effective, effective9cases,10cases were invalid.Treatmentgroup cure rate33.3%, the efficiency is26.7%, effective rate was30%, noefficiency was10.0%, the total effective rate was90.0%. In controlgroup, cure rate20.0%, the efficiency is16.7%, effective rate was30%, noefficiency by33.3%, the total effective rate was66.7%.There had significantdifference of effection between the treatment group and the control group.itprompt that the treatment effect of Tiaochang Tang was better than the effectof Maren pills. 2.In the aspect of traditional Chinese medicine symptom scores,in thetreatment group, the score before given treatment was13.24±2.39,after giventreatment was9.71±1.23.in the Maren pills group, the score before giventreatment was15.12±2.76,after given treatment was14±3.17.The scores oftwo group after given treatment both were lower than before takingtreatment, suggested that both drugs have a therapeutic effect, but the symptomscores of traditional Chinese medicine treatment group changed significantlygreater than the control group’s grading (p <0.05), suggested Tiaochang Tangis better than Maren pills in improving symptoms.3.One month after treatment, follow-up patients in treatment group casesrecurrence in3cases, the recurrence rate was10.0%, control group recurrencecases for7patients, the recurrence rate was23.3%, the recurrence rate oftwo group by statistical comparison, the treatment group was obviously lowerthan the control group (p <0.05), suggested Tiaochang Tang long-datedcurative effect is better than Maren pills.4.In terms of adverse drug reactions, Tiaochang Tang on patients withroutine urine, dung routine, electrocardiogram, liver function and indexes ofrenal function without apparent influence, Tiaochang Tang is safe and reliable. Conclusion:The treatment of Tiaochang Tang for senile functional constipationcurative effect is distinct, alleviate patient pain, can effectively control therecurrence rate, and has the characteristics of safe and non-toxic, can bewidely used in clinic.
