Clinical Observation Of Zhibai Dihuang Pills (ZDP) Treat The Side Effects Associated With Endocrine Therapy For Prostate Cancer

Objective:Clinical observation of Zhibai Dihuang pills treat the side effects associated with endocrine therapy for prostate cancer.Methods:Collecting60cases of clinical prostate cancer patients randomly divided into a treatment group and the control group,30cases in each. Treatment group would be taken ZDP on an empty stomach during endocrine therapy,8pills each time,3times a day, and even served12weeks, the control group only received endocrine therapy, symptoms quantified integral, international prostate symptom score (international prostate symptom score, IPSS) acquisition and related parameters were measured before treatment, at2weeks,4weeks,8weeks, and12weeks of treatment.Results:All research object were in good condition, the treatment and control groups in age, functional status score (Kamofsky Performance Status, KPS),body mass index(BMI),tumor stage,the way and the time of endocrine therapy were comparable (P>0.05), the first symptoms quantified integral, IPSS score and laboratory indicators were comparable (P>0.05); In improvement of symptoms quantify points, according to the standard of efficacy,treatment group’s total effective rate was46.6%, the level of symptom score was significantly lower than the control group in the4weeks of treatment (P=0.003), specific performance in mastodynia (P=0.034), hot flashes (P=0.010), dry oropharyngeal (P=0.044) and constipation (P=0.012) improvement; In improving IPSS score, treatment group’s IPSS score was lower than the control group at12weeks of treatment, but not statistically significant (P=0.062), and the treatment group’s total effective rate was only10.0%compared with the control group, no statistically significant difference (P=0.078); In laboratory indicators, hemoglobin, cholesterol and triglyceride levels of the treatment group and the control group showed no statistically significant after treatment; P values were0.639,0.460,0.582. Hemoglobin level of the control group showed a downward trend compared before treatment at12weeks(P=0.006).Conclusion:ZDP can improve the subjective symptoms of the side effects associated with endocrine therapy, reflected in mastodynia, hot flashes, oropharyngeal drying and improved constipation, abnormal sweating, five frustrating heat, tongue, pulse have no improvement; In the IPSS side, the ZDP have no significant improvement; In the laboratory indicators side, the ZDP prevention of the drop in hemoglobin caused by prostate cancer endocrine therapy have a certain effect.
