Clinical Research On Acupuncture Four Extra Meridians To Cure Perimenopause Syndrome

Objective: To study the effect of acupuncture four extra meridians to curePerimenopause syndrome (PMS).Methods: In accordance with the standards included in selected cases, the balloting of60patients were randomly divided into treatment group and control group, each with30cases. The treatment group was treated with acupuncture four extra meridians. Thecomparison group was treated with drug therapy. After two courses of treatment，analysis the data by statistic method.Results:(1) After the treatment, the treatment group and the control group hadsignificant improvement. The total effective rate of the treatment group was86.67%,and that of the control group was93.33%. There was no significant differencebetween the two groups (P＞0.05).(2) There were significant differences in both treatment group and control groupbetween patients before treatment and after treatment on follicle stimulating hormone(FSH), luteinizing hormone (LH) and estradiol(E2).(P＜0.05).Compared the FSH andLH of the patients after treatment, there were no significant differences between thetwo groups (P＞0.05), however, the increase of E2of the control group was moresignificant than that of the treatment group（P＜0.05）.(3) Compare the symptoms of improvement after treatment, both treatmentgroup and control group had significant improvement. There were no significantdifference between two groups to improve symptoms such as hot flashes, sweating, paresthesia，irritability and fatigue.However，the improvement of insomnia,joint painand headaches of treatment group was more significant than that of the controlgroup(p<0.01).While the improvement of palpitation, control group was moresignificant than that of treatment group.Conclusion: The results shows after the treatment the PMS symptoms have beenimproved in both treatment group and control group, and the treatment group hasshowed superiority in the improvement of insomnia，joint pain and headaches. Whilethe control group has showed superiority in the increase of E2.The treatment ofacupuncture four extra meridians has the advantages of without pain and wound, safeand convenient. It is easy for this method to promote for improve symptoms PMS.
