According to characteristic of the clinical symptoms of the Qi deficiency with phlegm-dampness type, Prof. Li Siwen believes that it is derived from the spleen-Qi deficiency. In order to enhance the quality of the cancer patients and increase their chemotherapy-accomplishment, the research leads to treat the spleen-Qi deficiency syndrome of the non-small cell lung cancer after chemotherapy by recuperating the functions of the spleen-stomach.Method:According to the Choosing&Accepting Standard,60cases were chosen; according to random number table.they were randomly divided into treatment group and control group. Each group contained30cases. Control group was given Domperidone(10mg. per os,3times one day, prior to the meals15mins)、Compound pepsin granules2bags (10mg, per os,3times one day, prior to the meals)、Kang ai injection (ivgtt, once a day,40ml into250-500ml0.9%normal saline or5%Glucose Liquid).14days was one period of treatment. Treatment group was given the experiential herbal soup called"jiawei xiang sha liujunzi Decoction"(150ml after the meals,3times each day, one for daily dose).14days was one period of treatment, at the end of the treatment, provide the effect and statistical analysis of them.Results:(1) The clinical symptoms of the spleen-Qi deficiency syndrome of both groups were improved obviously after planned treatment. But the treatment group’s effectiveness was more visible. The symptom scores compared between the two groups was statistically significant (P<0.05).(2) After treatment, KPS scores of the treatment group improved more significantly than the control group’s. The difference between the two groups was statistically obvious.(P<0.05).(3) Liver and kidney function, routine blood, ECG, etc of both groups of patients’were not changed obviously before and after the treatment. All these illustrate that the two treatment methods were safe and didn’t have obvious side effects. Conclusion:The results showed that, as for the spleen-Qi deficiency syndrome leaded by chemotherapy, Prof. Lisiwen emphasized reducing the damage to the spleen and stomach caused by the chemicals through recuperating the spleen-stomach’s functions based on the theory of "supporting vital Qi and eliminating cancer", thus cultivating and soliding the vital Qi and strengthen the right qi after the chemo. It could not only improve the quality of life noticeably after the chemo, but also help improving the rate of chemo-accomplishment, increasing the patients’immune function, enhancing the practical significance and clinical value of long-term outcomes and preventing cancer’s recurrence and metastasis.
