A Clinical Observation Of Gun Acupuncture Combined With Acupuncture Treated Peripheral Facial Paralysis

Object:Observed the curative effect of applying Gun Acupuncture combined with Acupuncture to treat Peripheral Facial Paralysis.Method:Clinical observation was completed in Jian Bao,Tian Youtang,Hao Yu, Liang Fang and other traditional Chinese medicine clinics of Hongkong from December,2010to December,2011.66patients with Peripheral Facial Paralysis were randomly divided into treatment group (Gun acupuncture combined with acupuncture group) and control group (acupuncture group). Observation period was one treatment course (20days). Observations included observation period the number of cases of clinical recovery, curative effect, the main symptoms before and after treatment changes Adverse reactions in the course of treatment.Results:Among33patients with Peripheral Facial Paralysis in treatment group,15cases got recovered,5cases got significant improvement,11cases got improvement,and2cases got noneffectiveness,with the total effective rate of93.9%;Among33patients in control group,1cases got recovered,22cases got significant improvement,9cases got improvement,and1cases got noneffectiveness,with the total effective rate of97.0%;To analyze the number of recovered,15cases got recovered in treatment group(45.5%),and1case got recovered in control group(3.0%),the cure rate of treatment group was significantly higher than the control group (χ2=16.170, P<0.001);Wilcoxon rank sum test found that after treatment the two groups’every scores were higher than that of before treatment,the difference was statistically signifant(P<0.05);Comparision of two groups’various targets showed that after treatment,the item scale total score and symptom score improvement compared with the control group were significant differences,the difference in the total score,light with eyes closed,heavy eyes closed and moving the nose were statistically significant(P<0.05);The degree of improvement with age and disease duration was a significant negative correlation(P<0.05);The men in the total degree of improvement,as well as light eyes closed,heavy eyes closed,moving the nose and other symptom improve are better than women(P<0.05).Conclusion:Both of Gun Acupuncture combined with Acupuncture and acupuncture could obviously treat the Peripheral Facial Paralysis,the cure rate higher than the control group, the difference in the total score,light with eyes closed,heavy eyes closed and moving the nose were statistically significant;And young age,the shorter duration of the patients after treatment,the symptoms improved more significantly,the male is most effective.
