| Objective: The aim of this clinical study was to investigate the clinical effects of treatment through a combination of acupuncture and thermal moxibustion on patients with peripheral facial palsy and its effect on immunoglobulin levels. Methods:The study mainly included 60 patients from the outpatient clinic of the Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University of China who met the criteria of nadir, spanning from January 2022 to March 2023,randomly divided into 2 groups,on the basis of receiving the same western medical treatment, the control group used ordinary acupuncture and the experimental group used acupuncture combined with thermosensitive moxibustion, each treatment course was 7 days, with a 1-day break at the end of one course of treatment and continued The patients in both groups were graded using the H-B facial nerve function grading criteria before and after treatment and the clinical efficacy was evaluated after 15 days of treatment. The facial disability index(FDI)scale was used to assess the neurological function and related somatic and social functions before and after treatment, and the changes in serum immunoglobulin levels before and after treatment were measured in both groups.Results:(1)The FDIS score decreased and the FDIP score increased after treatment, and the degree of change was greater in the test group, and the difference was statistically significant(P< 0.05).(2)After treatment, the Ig G level in the control group and the three serum antibody levels in the test group decreased significantly compared with those before treatment, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05);the Ig M and Ig A levels in the control patients decreased compared with those before treatment. The differences were not statistically significant(P>0.05);after treatment, the serum Ig M and Ig A levels in the test group were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were not statistically significant(P > 0.05);the serum Ig G levels were lower than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05);(3)after treatment, the healing rate of the control group was 66.66% and the total effective rate was 73.33%,and the healing rate of the test group(The healing rate(80.00%)and total effective rate(93.33%)of the experimental group were higher than those of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).Conclusion: Acupuncture combined with thermosensitive moxibustion is more effective than ordinary acupuncture alone in treating peripheral facial palsy, with faster recovery of facial muscle function, improving patients’ autoimmunity and improving their quality of life. |
