Objective: To evaluate the effects of the changes in both living and diet customson the Fasting Blood Glucose(FBG)of the elderly from our Changchun areas, providing new evidences for preventing and controlling the diseases induced by highlevel of FBG.Methods:The information of enrolled individual was obtained by quationnaire, physical and serum examinations. Thereafter, all enrolled people were followed up for3-5years to compare the levels of FBG among people with different living and dietcustoms. All the data were analyzed through the methods of chi-square test and COXregressive analysis using SPSS13.0software.Results:We found that there were no significant differences among people withvariant ages, sex, races and educational backgrounds in the indexs of increased ordecreased ratios of FBG. Single factor analysis showed that the index of increasedratio of FBG of people who excised routinely or kept fit were significantly lower thanthat of people without excise or with high body weight. In addition, the result ofphysical examination showed that people with low contamination of adipose withinthe organs or body presented lower level of FBG than that people with high fat.Herein, the intake of Vitamin C, E and B1, and sodium salt shed lights on thevariation of FBG. We found that people who took in relative-low doses of Vitamin C,E and B1were of high levels of FBG. In contrast, the people who took in moreVitamin B2, Vitamin C and Calcium,Phosporus and leopoldite were of high levels ofFBG. COX regressive analysis showed that high level of FBG was affected by thefactors, including excise and fat. However, the low level of FBG is affected by thecontamination of adipose in the body and the intake of Vitamin C and Phosporus. Conclusion:There was ascending trend in the blood glucose level of the elderlyin rural areas of Changchun. The group of people who had ascending exercise hadlower rate of blood glucose rise than the group of people who had not exercised. Thegroup of people who had high obesity indexes had higher rate of blood glucose risethan the group of people who had no change. The group of people who had low body fat percentage had higher rate of blood glucose drop than the group of people who hadno change. The group of people who had descending Vitamin C intake had lower rateof blood glucose drop than the group of people who had no change.
